Purpose

Dear reader,

Lately, I’ve been thinking about direction — and the quiet pressure we feel to already have ours figured out.

Even when I try not to compare my path to others, I inevitably do, as many of you may relate. And I notice how many people seem to have already figured out where they’re going and display it with confidence.

While we live in a world that tends to reward that clarity with recognition and validation, it’s totally fine if you still don’t know where you’re going. I understand that our society can make uncertainty feel like something we need to outgrow quickly.

I often wonder if that certainty displayed by others is as complete as it appears, or if it’s simply one way of moving forward through this game of life.

What I do know for sure is this: choosing a path is not something to take lightly. Once we do, it can shape how others perceive and think about us — and oftentimes how we see ourselves as well. Over time, the road we take can become our identity, so much so that we forget who we were before it.

Lately, I’ve come to the realization that it doesn’t matter where we are headed, as long as we live our lives with honesty and integrity — staying coherent between what we feel, what we think, and what we do, even as we evolve and grow through life.

I’m still figuring my path out as I write this. And perhaps that, too, is part of the journey.

Wherever you are, I hope the path you embark on is the one that truly aligns with who you are, and that it leads you to a better future.

Purposely,
Lily
